Monday April 16 • 6pm • JGB 2.216
At UT-Austin, we’re lucky to live in the middle of the most beautiful landscape on Earth — Central Texas. Come meet Billy O’Leary and Kate Shirley, two Central Texas Master Naturalists, who will share their knowledge of Central Texas native and invasive species and the natural aspects that make our home unique. Plus, you’ll learn how to identify animals by scat and tracks!
Bring your plant and wildlife pictures and lots of questions! Facebook event here.
Tuesday April 17 • 9am – 2pm • Gregory Gym Plaza
Join us for our last Trash to Treasure Sale of the semester! As part of UT’s Zero Waste by 2020 goal, Trash to Treasure diverts tens of thousands of pounds of items from ending up in landfills by collecting a reselling would-be waste. Items come from our annual dorm move out donation drive and campus lost and found centers. Profits from the sale fund other Campus Environmental Center projects!
As always, everything sells for $1! Cash only, please. Items include gently used clothing, water bottles, shoes, accessories, school supplies, home goods, and more! Facebook event here.
Wednesday April 18 • 10am – 2pm • Speedway Mall by Gregory Gym
We’ll be dishing out knowledge and swag at the Sustainability Tabling Fair, presented by the Office of Sustainability. There’ll be an amazing range of groups — arborists, beekeepers, engineers, gardeners, and more — and, of course, yours truly. Stop on by!
Thursday April 19 • 5:30pm doors, 6:30pm show • Studio 6A (CMB)
Saddle up folks, the Showdown is a brewin’. Throw on your boots and head on down to Studio 6A for a night of hootin and hollerin.
12 professors from each of UT’s undergraduate colleges will come together to compete for a scholarship for their school. Each contestant will have 5 minutes to address the question: “How is your discipline integral to our sustainable future?” Audience members get to vote for the winner in real time! Facebook event.
