University Coop Student Organization Funding - Due 5/10/08

Global Giving Film Fest Scholarship - Due 5/31/08
The GlobalGiving FilmFest Scholarship is open to students who are interested in being a part of global change at a local level and desire to bring to life the story of a high-impact grassroots project. To be eligible for this award, you must be at least 14 years of age and submit a project idea in a video, animation or "mash-up" that either tells the story of a project (or projects) on GlobalGiving, or focuses on why you give to a project (or projects). 3 awards will be given between $300-$1000. Christopher College Video Contest- 6/6/08
The Christopher Video Contest asks you to interpret the theme "One Person Can Make a Difference" on film or video in five minutes or less. The contest is open to all post-secondary school students currently enrolled in and attending college classes - undergraduate, graduate, full- or part-time. No entries will be returned. Entries must be submitted on standard, full-sized NTSC-format VHS tape or as Region 1 or regionless DVDs. Blade Your Ride Scholarship - Due 6/30/2008
The Blade Your Ride Scholarship is available to undergraduate students with a passion for finding solutions to the global climate crisis. You must be pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree at a US college or university and have at least a 3.0 GPA to be eligible for this award. You must submit a resume, transcript, letter of referral and a video message demonstrating your commitment to doing something about the climate crisis. Ruth Stanton Community Grant- Due 11/1/08
The Ruth Stanton Community Grant is available to students who are active in community service. You must answer the three essay questions listed on the sponsor's Web site in 100 words or less and include one letter of recommendation from a non-family member to be eligible for this award. Youth Venture Grant Program - rolling deadline

Youth Venture is a national movement of young people who are proving that their dreams, creativity, and abilities make a positive difference to communities across the nation. The Youth Venture Grant Program provides grants to young people (ages 12 to 20) who have a dream or identify a need in their school or community, develop an idea and then, with a team, launch their own community-minded organizations to address that dream or need. Each venture team must have an Ally - a caring adult who advises the team. Grants of up to $1,000 are provided to help launch the organization. Applications are accepted throughout the year. Do Something Plum Grant - rolling deadline
The Do Something Plum Grant is available to students, age 25 or under, who are social entrepreneurs. You must have recently created a sustainable project, program or organization. One winner is selected every week and winning projects will be highlighted on DoSomething.org. For more information or to submit a project, visit http://www.dosomething.org/plum_youth_grant_application. Each grant is the equivalent of $500.
Young Explorers Grants - rolling deadline
 The National Geographic Society gives Young Explorers Grants for 18-25 year-olds who pursue research, exploration, and conservation-related projects consistent with National Geographic's existing grant programs. Grants vary in amount ($2,000 to $5,000) depending on the significance of the project. Visit http://www.nationalgeographic.com/yeg/ to apply and see more information.
Do Something Offering Weekly Grants for Young Social Entrepreneurs - Rolling Deadline
Do Something works to inspire, support, and celebrate young social entrepreneurs and community activists. The organization is accepting applications weekly for the following programs: Do Something and GameStop are offering grants of $500 each to young people, age 25 and younger, who have a great idea for a community action project and need support to turn their idea into reality. Do Something and Plum TV are offering grants of $500 each to social entrepreneurs, age 25 and younger, who have recently created a sustainable project, program, or organization and need funding to further the growth and success of their program. MILES Revolution Video Contest - Due 11/15/07

This contest requires students to engage in the sustainability movement by creating a carbon neutrality themed video that can be uploaded onto YouTube.  The five students whose videos garner the most views on YouTube will win a $1,000 cash prize and a MILES Electric Vehicle for their campus. http://www.nogasrequired.com/docs/contestoverview.pdf

 NWF Chill Out Contest - Due 11/30/07

Tell the National Wildlife Federation about your campus's project to fight global warming and WIN! Prizes include a free public screening of An Inconvenient Truth, up to $1000 for your project, and a video feature in Chill Out: Campus Solutions to Global Warming, NWF's Campus Ecology's nationwide multimedia broadcast on April 18, 2008!  EPA P3 Grant Competition - Due 12/20/07

The EPA has begun accepting applications in the Annual P3 Award: A National Student Design Competition for Sustainability Focusing on People, Prosperity, and the Planet. The competition will provide grants to teams of college students to research, develop, and design solutions to challenges to sustainability. The EPA will award approximately 50 grants of up to $10,000 for Phase I. Upon the successful completion of Phase I, Phase I grant recipients will have the opportunity to apply for Phase II funding of up to $75,000 for one additional year. The EPA will award approximately 10 Phase II grants. Apply at http://es.epa.gov/ncer/p3/ 

Keen Footwear Sustainability Contest - Due 12/31/07

To enter, write an original statement (200 words or less) about how your environmental research or non-profit project will, by June 1, 2009, build awareness about sustainability and address an environmental and/or socio-environmental problem; and your plan for how to use a prize, if awarded, to support your project.

Parents' Fund Grants - due Jan 2008

Texas Parents is excited to offer the Parents' Fund Grants to student organizations and University Departments each spring semester. This funding is made possible though the contributions and generous donations of UT parents to the Texas Parents' Fund. Grants are awarded to successful applicants who are working to enhance and enrich the student experience at UT by addressing and impacting a student need. Apply at http://www.texasparents.org/

 Udall Scholarship - Due January 2008

The Udall Foundation expects to award 80 scholarships of up to $5,000 and 50 honorable mentions on the basis of merit to sophomore and junior level college students who have demonstrated commitment to careers related to the environment. Apply at http://udall.gov/udall.asp?link=200

 NWF Campus Ecology Fellowships - Due January 2008

The National Wildlife Federation Campus Ecology Program invites fellowship applications from undergraduate and graduate students who are confronting global warming on campus and beyond. Campus Ecology Fellows receive modest stipends, training, networking opportunities, and national recognition. Projects may cover a range of approaches to addressing global warming, including transportation, energy, habitats, and planning. Fellows receive up to $2000 to offset project expenses.  Morris K. Udall and Excellence in National Environmental Policy Scholarship Due 2/1/2008

The Foundation will award eighty scholarships of up to $5,000 each to
full-time Sophomores & Juniors (see Udall definition) with a GPA of "B" or
better who are "... committed to a career related to the environment, OR
committed to a career in tribal public policy OR Native American health care
(only Native Americans and Alaska Natives are eligible to apply in tribal
public policy or Native American health care)."  Scholarship recipients must
enroll full-time for the 2008-2009 academic year.

The University of Texas at Austin has been invited to nominate a total of
six students in the above categories, and the Vice President for Research
invites nominations of qualified students who meet the Udall criteria and
have demonstrated excellence in these fields.  Complete program information

Undergraduate Research Fellowship - Due 2/4/08

Each spring, the University Cooperative Society grants Undergraduate Research Fellowship up to $1,000. The independent research projects of undergraduate students may be supervised by faculty, lecturers, or full-time research scientists.  Inman Scholars Summer Leadership Program - Due 2/15/08

To further the mission of leadership training in the increasingly diverse environment of the 21st century, the LBJ School of Public Affairs offers a fully-funded summer leadership program designed specifically for upperclassmen interested in exploring the field of public policy in a graduate school environment. Rising seniors from all academic disciplines are invited to apply to the Inman Scholars Program. The LBJ School is particularly interested in attracting qualified students of color to this program. Applicants who are selected to participate in the Inman Scholar's Program will be invited to Austin, Texas for a seven-week residential leadership program (May 27 – July 11) focusing on public policy as a tool for change in our society. The Inman Scholars Program consists of three primary components: leadership training, academic preparation in quantitative methods and policy analysis, and career mentoring.
