Who We Are

The University of Texas Campus Environmental Center is the largest organization on campus for UT students interested in the environment. We are a sponsored student organization under Campus Planning and Facilities Management, in the University Operations portfolio.

The mission of the CEC is to empower the UT community to reduce its negative environmental impact and to foster a genuine culture of sustainability on campus through collaborative and constructive means.

In pursuit of this mission CEC engages in projects, programs, campaigns, and group activities that strive to achieve the following:

• Collaborate with UT entities and off-campus partners to foster change in policy and practice toward a more environmentally sustainable campus;
• Educate the student body and UT community about environmental sustainability issues; and
• Develop knowledgeable and skilled leaders through direct participation in CEC events, classes, and programs.
